SAS Performing Arts Company is now in its 8th season. Our ROLE Institute Workshops support young performers as they grow in a space that values creativity, confidence, and artistic growth. In our studio, we offer unique programs designed to help artists develop fully. We are committed to each artist’s progress through rehearsals, coaching, masterclasses, and performance opportunities.
In these workshops, you can learn, study, rehearse, and perform operatic pieces, with a focus on building your character from the music to the stage.
Performances feature piano accompaniment and are semi-staged, using some props and costumes.
We welcome singers of all levels who want to grow through role study to join us.
In the Complete Opera Study, you have the opportunity to choose to concentrate on a complete role from cover to cover. Or, in our Opera Act-by-Act Workshop, focus on the demands of a specific act. We also offer a separate program for dramatic voices to address their unique challenges. Click below to see more about these programs. Each one ends with a live performance that will be recorded, and you will receive a copy for your own use.
Participation Information
Please refer to individual workshops for fee structure. Scholarships may be available for these programs.
All singers are requested to do basic musical preparation before the first session begins.
Participants will receive:

3 individual One hour coaching sessions and Ten 3 hour rehearsals focusing on style, language, music, character development / staging, and a dress rehearsal to prepare these works for a guaranteed performance.

Our faculty of coaches, collaborative pianists, and directors will guide you through the challenges of the role(s) you have chosen.

COMPLETE OPERA STUDY
(July 2026- June 2027)
The singer will study, prepare, and perform a complete role. This workshop is perfect for the study of a new role or the review of a previously performed role following the above outlined schedule.
Roles are double cast.
The cost for lead roles is $450 and secondary roles are $300.
