SAS Performing Arts Company presents “An Enchanting Operatic Masque.”

A “masque” is a grand, dramatic, often theatrical performance that uniquely blends elements of opera and the masque. Operatic masques, in particular, incorporate opera elements, such as vocal music (arias, duets), sometimes with a developed plot structure or scenes.

Our program will feature a wide variety of staged scenes from operas, including Carmen, Les Contes D’Hoffmann, Ariadne auf Naxos, Cosi fan Tutte, and Il Trittico, with music from a diverse range of composers such as Bizet, Mozart, Verdi, Puccini, Offenbach, and R. Strauss. Our SAS performers featured in this program are Sopranos Monica Camafreita, Rebecca Grady Rucker, and Gillian Watson. Mezzo Soprano’s Annie Chester and Perri Sussman, and Tenor Tom Walters. The Collaborative Pianist is Mary Pinto, and the Stage Director is Artistic Director Stephen Scovasso.
