SAS Opera Workshop: Winter 2020
Complete Opera Intensive Study
Mozart: Don Giovanni
This workshop features intensive study of one complete opera from the standard repertoire. For the fall 2019, the first complete opera will be Mozart's Don Giovanni (sung in Italian).

The participants will begin with sessions of pure music followed by staging. We study the score and the text to find the relationship between the characters and as they relate to the background of the drama, the time-period of the drama as well as the composition, and, finally, the emotional and, at times, spiritual motivations of the characters.
